Sisterhood & Lessons

On the Day of Judgement, Allah, the Most High, will announce, ‘Where are those who love each other for the sake of My pleasure? This day I am going to shelter them in the shade provided by Me. Today there is no shade except My shade.

(Muslim)

Below you will find our latest Sisterhood Programs.

Since its inception in 2001 the UMA Sisterhood has strived in its entire efforts to the cause of uniting Muslim Sisters to share, increase and strengthen a special deeper bond between one another based on the unyielding principles of Sincerity, Sisterhood and Sacrifice for the sake and pleasure of Allah (swt). In this current environment of heightened and compounding global Islamic awareness, our Muslimah easily gets trapped in seeking to only increase and perfect her personal Iman, Prayer, Quranic Recitation, Sunnan practices, Islamic Pillars, family duties, social obligations and the like but neglects another fundamental aspect, being Sisterhood. This aspect goes beyond the face of Islam and ventures deep into the hearts of all that are united in their involvement. This relationship is unique to Muslim Sisters and the UMA Sisterhood is a medium to help experience what no other social relationship or connection on earth can claim to experience.

UMA Sisterhood benefits and activities

The UMA Sisterhood comes together every Saturday in growing numbers at the UMA Centre seeking Islamic knowledge and interaction under safe Islamic Sisters only environments. The UMA Sisterhood offers all Sisters the following programs and activities:

Main lessons by Sheik Shady and various speakers

  • Quran Tajweed classes
  • Arabic beginners classes
  • Muslim Women’s Issues
  • Youth programme
  • Young children’s playgroup
  • New Muslim development
  • Socialising sessions

Being a Sister in Islam is one of the many blessings that come from accepting the true path of Allah (swt). The UMA Sisterhood transcends any differences regarding race, colour, nationality, culture or language. This is evident in the many non-Muslim sisters who continue to attend or have attended classes and activities from all over Australia and from all shades of life. New Muslim Sisters who enter freshly into the fold of Islam have also enjoyed the environment of the UMA Sisterhood to cultivate their development and network with likeminded Sisters amid similar backgrounds and circumstances.

The UMA Sisterhood is entirely run by dedicated and tireless volunteers who are appreciative that Allah (swt) has given them an opportunity to work for him and uphold his great religion (deen). They meet and depart purely for his love, mercy, blessings and pleasure. We promote all Sisters to become involved, attend regularly, reach out to female family and friends and experience the true peace that only comes with being a Muslimah.

Forging life changing and lasting friendships amongst one another that extends to personal and family lives. The issue of Sisterhood for all involved has become practiced in all its facets even outside scheduled gatherings and has grown into a truly large and extended family whereby Sisters within the UMA Sisterhood constantly maintain their ties amongst each other extending to weddings, births, deaths, graduations, personal visits, coffees and public lectures just to name a few.

The gatherings have you acquire and utilise teachings, wisdoms and a greater sense of belonging which can only continue to enhance greater cohesion and strengthen the fabric of the Muslim Ummah. After all it is the strength of the Sisterhood that the Islamic Ummah gazes at as the yardstick to measure its future prominence. The UMA Sisterhood is located at the UMA Centre 19 Enterprise Ave, Padstow NSW 2211.
